Blank Park Zoo Animal Days are back! Join us throughout the year for special days to learnĀ & celebrate endangered species Blank Park Zoo is working tirelessly to save! All activities during Animal Days are available 10 AM – 2 PM and are included in your general admission fee. Animal Days are free for Blank Park Zoo members.

March 19th – River Otter Day: They slip, they slide, they steal our hearts. Join us and learn all about Lucas and Sassy, our North American river otters.

May 21st – Endangered Species Day: From the tiniest of frogs to the tallest giraffe, when you visit Blank Park Zoo, you support not only the animals at the Zoo but also help to save animals in the wild! Come learn what your Zoo is doing to save wildlife and enjoy family friendly activities!

June 8th – World Oceans Day: The closest ocean to Iowa is over 900 miles away! But did you know there are things you can do here at home to help keep our world's oceans clean and clear for all marine life? Join us to learn how tiny actions in Iowa can make huge waves in our oceans!

June 21st – World Giraffe Day: Did you know a giraffe has the same number of vertebrae in their neck as you do? Come learn how you can stick your neck out to save giraffe and what Blank Park Zoo is doing to help.

July 23rd – Bird Day: From the flightless kiwi to the heavy kori bustard; from the swimming penguin to the loud bellbird, birds are a very diverse group of animals. Blank Park Zoo has over 50 species of birds! Join us for a day that's all about the birds!

August 12th – Primate Day: Primates have a special place in every human heart, and for good reason! Join us to learn about one of the loudest, gibbons!

September 24th – World Rhino Day: The bouncing baby is almost a year old! Join us for a special edition of World Rhino Day as we celebrate her birthday and learn about why her birth is so important to the survival of her species.

November 4th – Reptile Awareness Day: You don't see many reptiles during November in Iowa. From the slow tortoises to the slithery snakes, come to the Zoo and learn about all of our scaley friends.
