Summer can’t come soon enough for music fans in Des Moines. 80/35, the annual downtown Des Moines indie music festival, is set to be anchored this summer by headlining performances from psychedelic favorites MGMT and celebrated alternative staple The Shins. Confirmed to round out the lineup, which is set to feature about 50 acts, is rapper and food fanatic Action Bronson, folk act Elephant Revival, Iowa-grown hardcore staple Modern Life is War and Minneapolis group The Suburbs.
The two-day 80/35, which draws an estimated 30,000 people annually, is set to take place July 7 and 8 in Western Gateway Park. Two-day tickets cost $65 and single-day tickets run at $42 each. All tickets are for sale now and can be purchased at midwestix.com. Day-of tickets will be available at the festival in July with two-day passes costing $90 and a one-day pass costing $50.
