    The Governor’s Conference on Substance Abuse is entering into its 43rd year and will take place on April 21st and 22nd, 2020 at the HyVee Hall. The goal of this conference is to establish a meaningful dialogue among health professionals by focusing on present day topics, best practices, and strategies for addressing barriers faced by behavioral health professions. This event provides annual education to behavioral health professionals as well as professions in related fields, e.g. child welfare, criminal/juvenile justice, education, health care, tobacco use prevention. This event is a collaborative effort between the Iowa Department of Public Health, community service organizations and stakeholders who are committed to the educational advancement of professionals working in the addictions field.
