2023 Miss Iowa Pageant

    The Downtown Des Moines Marriott will host the 2023 National American Miss Iowa Pageant on June 8 – 11, 2023 and will feature over 300 of the region’s most accomplished young women, ages 4- 24.

    Each year, the National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5 Million dollars in cash, scholarships, and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. The Miss Iowa Pageant is the official state preliminary to the National Pageant held in sunny Orlando, FL and the Universal Orlando Resort ® National American Miss is dedicated to developing the success of young women across our nation with a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and family-oriented.

    The pageant program is based on inner beauty, including a “no makeup rule “for contestants under the age of 12. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals. The pageant seeks to recognize the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for the future!

    The event will feature the 2022 Miss Iowa’s, who will crown their successors at the culmination of the event. The 2022 Miss Iowa’s are: Emersyn Thacker of Muscatine, IA – Miss Iowa Princess and 1st runner-up at the National Pageant, Angelea Deevers of Albia – Miss Iowa Jr. Pre-Teen, Marlaina Lightkeeper of Pella – Miss Iowa Pre-Teen, Charlotte Lange of Johnston – Miss Iowa Jr. Teen, Carlie Jo Ahrenstorff of Spirit Lake – Miss Iowa Teen, and Kristen Hovda of Cedar Rapids and 4th runner-up at the National Pageant – Miss Iowa
