The Des Moines Kennel Club is an All Breed club dedicated to improving the health, temperament and quality of purebred dogs. We are a diverse group of dog lovers who share the common interest of raising, training, breeding and competing with our purebred dogs.
DMKC sponsors educational programs, training classes and health clinics, as well as responsible breeder locator services.

The Des Moines Kennel Club was organized in 1925 for the purpose of promoting purebred dogs. The DMKC is an AKC Member Club. Presently, there are approximately 80 members representing 60 breeds of purebred dogs. An annual AKC licensed dog show is held each September with an entry of around 2,200 dogs. Seminars and public education projects are provided several times a year.
