This year, Salsa Des Moines is celebrating its 10th Anniversary serving the community. As part of the celebration, we also will be recognizing the Latin culture with a Day of the Dead Celebration. The Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos, is celebrated throughout Mexico and elsewhere to honor friends and family who have died. You are invited to bring a remembrance of your loved ones to place at a special altar of remembrance called an Ofrenda.
The night also includes a special group waterfall dance and dance performances by groups from throughout the Des Moines dance community.
Salsa Des Moines depends upon the contributions of sponsors to achieve its mission to embrace the Latin culture through dance, share the joy and health benefits of Latin dance and promote goodwill and understanding among people in Des Moines and the surrounding areas.
