COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Catch Des Moines, the Greater Des Moines Convention & Visitors Bureau, has an opening for a Communications Manager. This position is in the marketing department and will help provide proactive positioning of the organization as a viable destination in the travel/tourism marketplace.

Job duties include developing content/talking points for all communication channels, as well as managing blogs, video inventory and productions, newsletters and press releases. The person will also assist with press trip planning and coordination as well as assisting with media request for information and interviews and other duties.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in relationship building, managing multiple tasks and content writing. Four-year degree in Marketing, Communications or a similar area of study, with two to three years of experience preferred.

SPORTS EVENT MANAGER
Catch Des Moines is looking for an Event Manager. This position is responsible for managing the preparation and coordination of the AAU Junior Olympic Games hosted in Des Moines, July 2018.

This individual will assist the Catch Des Moines team in producing the 2018 AAU Junior Olympic Games. They will serve as a liaison between AAU sport chairs and Catch Des Moines staff to ensure a successfully executed event as well as oversight of event timelines, products, personnel and resources needed for event execution.

In addition to executing the AAU Junior Olympic Games, this position will assist in the coordination efforts of additional sporting events such as the NAIA Wrestling Championships and others.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and prior sport related event experience. Computer skills, planning and organization skills. Ideal candidate also has knowledge and basic understanding in design programs.

This is a temporary position through September 2018. Ideal start date is January 2018.

AIRPORT VOLUNTEERS
Airport Volunteers are an integral part of how the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau is able to accomplish its mission of continually reaching out to visitors, promoting Des Moines as an attractive, vibrant and affordable destination and having a positive impact on our community. Volunteers have the opportunity to greet visitors arriving to and departing from the city, as well as answer questions they may have about where to eat, where to stay and what to do while they are in Des Moines. Volunteers man an information kiosk in the public waiting area of the terminal making them easily accessible and welcoming to all. Basic training is provided, as well as other tools to make it easy to promote the city. We are looking for people willing to take on a four-hour time slot each week or act as fill-ins for other volunteers when needed.
