National Sales Manager – Sports 

Greater Des Moines is the fastest-growing metro in the Midwest. And for good reason! Our job is to market the Des Moines area to visitors and we’re looking for an experienced salesperson that has the ability to promote and sell Des Moines as an international, national and regional sporting event location.  

This person will be responsible for soliciting, securing and retaining events for the sports market in Greater Des Moines.  

The ideal candidate will have proven prospecting and closing skills with the ability to build multi-level relationships. Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary for this position to be successful.  

The National Sales Manager – Sports will prepare and execute bids, site visits and familiarization trip from beginning to end which includes the planning, coordinating, budgeting and other requirements. They will also make formal bid presentations by traveling to meetings and speaking before groups.  

A bachelor’s degree and five years of experience (or a combination of education and experience) is required. DMO and industry knowledge is a plus. Some travel will be required.
