DES MOINES, IA – The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau wants locals to help show visitors what they should catch in Greater Des Moines. The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau is doing a public call for bands to provide music, and asking locals to provide photos and videos of the city. Selected music, photos and videos will be featured in the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau’s regional TV/radio advertising spots set to run in Council Bluffs/Omaha, Eastern Iowa, Central Iowa and Southern Minnesota.

 

Local Band Wanted:

The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, with help from the Des Moines Music Coalition and Metro Arts Alliance, is searching for an up-and-coming local band to provide original music to be featured in the TV and radio spots. Submitted music should have a focus on instrumentation and possess an up-tempo, engaging rhythm to represent the vibrancy of the city.

 

The ads will feature energetic layers of rhythms and beats paired with visuals to emphasize the abundant range of activities Greater Des Moines offers visitors. Vocals should appeal to all ages with uplifting themes that could be tied to the lively energy of the region.

 

The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau will select one band’s submission to be featured in both TV and radio spots. In return, the selected band will receive a monetary honorarium, plus additional benefits as negotiated to potentially include:

·       Mutually agreed upon band photos and videos included on catchdesmoines.com summer microsite.

·       Mentions in public relations and social media promotion of TV and radio spot creation.

·       One year of Silver Marketing Partnership with the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau ($350 value).

·       Additional opportunities may be available as the campaign develops.

 

To submit music for consideration, please provide the band’s name, contact information and either a music file or link to a sound clip. No song covers will be considered. Submissions must be sent to kristine@catchdesmoines.com no later than Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

 

Locals’ Photos and Videos Wanted:

The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau is also looking for photos and videos that capture the energy and vibe of the region. Submitted photos and videos may be featured in advertisements, including TV and cable spots. All submissions must be able to provide proof of consent for identifiable persons in both photos and videos.

 

Photo and video submissions must be posted to www.facebook.com/catchdesmoines no later than Friday, February 8, 2013. Individuals whose media has been chosen will be contacted directly.
