The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau has launched an autumn marketing campaign at catchdesmoines.com/fall, encouraging visitors to “Catch Festive Fall” in Greater Des Moines. The site will feature Greater Des Moines farms, orchards, wineries and breweries, plus local golf courses, trails and events unique to fall in Des Moines.

“Des Moines is a great destination during September and October,” says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission. “Parents can experience pumpkin patches and apple picking with young children. Couples can retreat for wine samples or brewery tours. Even young professionals will love wandering the Farmers’ Market then catching a football game at a nearby sports bar.”

“Even as summer winds down, a new season emerges in Greater Des Moines. There’s plenty to catch year-round,” adds Edwards.

Sponsored by Growing Family Fun at Geisler Farms (5251 NE 94th Avenue, Bondurant), the microsite offers one free maze admission with three paid maze admissions, valid only at Geisler Farms.

Visitors and locals can also enter to win a Fall Giveaway to Greater Des Moines destinations, including tickets to Last Laugh Comedy Club, MB2 Raceway, Inc., Science Center of Iowa, Blank Park Zoo, Seven Oaks Recreation and Des Moines Community Playhouse, plus admission and hayrides at Growing Family Fun at Geisler Farms and a gift card to Summerset Winery.

During last year’s fall campaign, the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau received more than 85,000 inquiries from prospective visitors interested in learning more about Greater Des Moines.

The site will remain live through Friday, October 31. To “Catch Festival Fall” in Greater Des Moines, visit catchdesmoines.com/fall and look for special autumn blog posts at catchdesmoines.com/blog.
